UK is thinking about Forcing ISP's to block File Sharing

From Techdirt:

Following the recent UK shutdowns of OiNK and tv-links, Lord Triesman, the parliamentary Under Secretary for Innovation, Universities and Skills, is now threatening to regulate ISPs if they don't stop file sharing.

Certain Organizations have been trying to stop people from sharing files with each other nearly since the internet began, as if it was even possible.  The only upside to this is that the ISP's will surely fight this as they have in the past, the Logistics of trying to detect and prevent file sharing is massive, it would be very expensive, difficult, and ultimately doomed to failure from the start.

Governments may be used to burning money but the ISP's aren't, they have to remain profitable to stay in business.
